Georgia school on lockdown amid reports of an 'active shooter'

A Georgia school has been placed on lockdown following reports of an active shooter.

Apalachee High School in Winder in Barrow County, 25 miles west of Athens, was put on hard lockdown Wednesday morning, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

The school district confirmed reports of gunfire at the school to Atlanta News First.

Georgia State police told CNN they are responding to an ‘active scene’ but did not provide additional details.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s office told USA Today there was an ‘active shooter situation’ at the school – and that all schools in the district are under lockdown as a ‘precautionary measure.’
A source told CNN they are treating patients with gunshot wounds related to the incident.

Heavily-armed police were seen entering the school as students were evacuated into the football stadium.

At least one person was loaded into a medic helicopter on a stretcher and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital – the largest hospital in northern Georgia.

Images from the scene show several ambulances and police vehicles outside the school.
Panicked parents are currently outside the school and many appear to be in contact with their children.

The district said they are releasing students to their parents and guardians.

Live footage shows a student doubled over under a cover next to nearby ambulances.

Shocking moment former soccer manager Nestor Ortigoza 'assaults estranged wife' in front of….see more

A disturbing video captured the moment an Argentine soccer legend allegedly assaulted his estranged wife as one of their two sons looked on in horror.

Leaked surveillance footage, which was leaked on Thursday, seemingly showed Nestor Ortigoza, 39, charging at Lucia Cassiau, 35, and smacking a cell phone of her hand at their home in Ezeiza, a city outside Buenos Aires.

A video taken by Cassiau’s phone also shows him hitting the phone before falling to the ground.

As the surveillance video goes on, Ortigoza then appeared to strike her face and pushed her into a wall.

Ortigoza then berated her shortly before she walked over to her son and hugged him.
Both appeared before the Ezeiza prosecutor’s office and pressed charges against each other.

The prosecutor’s office is investigating the former footballer for domestic violence, while Cassiau is facing allegations of child maltreatment.

A video from another violent incident showed Ortigoza dribbling a soccer ball with one of the couple’s two sons in the backyard of a residence.

It seemed that Cassiau and Ortigoza had been arguing prior to the recording and she tells Ortigoza, ‘Shut up because the child is here.’

Ortigoza responded by kicking a ball that knocked the phone off Cassiau’s hand and hit her in the face.

A source with knowledge of the case told online news portal Infobae that the domestic violence incidents took place in 2023.
In light of the videos, the San Lorenzo governing board called on Ortigoza to step down from his board member post.

He was fired as sporting director in August due to issues surrounding the signing of a player.

‘Following the publicly known facts that link him to situations of gender-based violence, the majority ruling bloc of the San Lorenzo Board of Directors decides to demand that (manager) Néstor Ezequiel Ortigoza resign from his position, since his actions do not represent the values that our institution upholds,’ the team said in a statement.

Ortigoza, a native of San Antonio de Padua, a town in the Buenos Aires province, was a member of Paraguay’s national team that appeared at the 2010 World Cup.

He carved out a stellar career in the Argentine soccer league, spending two stints with San Lorenzo.

He led the club to their first-ever Copa Libertadores title in 2014, scoring the game-winning goal in the final.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. allegedly cheated on wife Cheryl Hines with…see more

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. allegedly cheated on his wife, Cheryl Hines, with New York Magazine’s political correspondent Olivia Nuzzi.

“The nature of some communications between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal,” the journalist, 31, admitted in a statement Thursday night without naming the former 2024 presidential candidate, 70, who dropped out of the race last month.

Nuzzi insisted, however, that their relationship was not physical.
Sources told The Post that the Washington writer and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy allegedly sexted while she was engaged to fellow journo Ryan Lizza and he was married to Hines.

Following her admission, New York Magazine announced in a note to readers that Nuzzi has been put on leave.

“Recently our Washington Correspondent Olivia Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures,” the publication said in a statement on its website late Thursday.

Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign.”

The magazine shared that “no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias” was found in an internal review of her published articles.

“She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this violation of our readers’ trust,” the outlet concluded.

While reporting for a feature article about the presidential hopeful, Nuzzi visited RFK Jr.’s Brentwood, Calif., home and they took a hike together in the Santa Monica Mountains.

She published the profile in November 2023, and they began their alleged fling shortly after, sources told Status, which was first to report the news.

“Mr. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece,” a Kennedy spokesperson told The Post when asked about the alleged relationship.

Nuzzi was engaged to Politico reporter Lizza in 2022, but sources told The Post that they called off their wedding within the last few weeks.

Meanwhile, Kennedy — who notoriously had affairs during his previous marriages to Emily Ruth Black and Mary Richardson — has been married to Hines, 58, since 2014.

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” alum has yet to publicly address the news, and her rep had no comment.

American comedian and actor looks unrecognisable with a thick moustache while….see more

An American comedian and actor looked unrecognisable while on set of his new movie in Rome on Thursday.

The 59-year-old looked worlds away from his usual self as he rocked a thick moustache and beard stubble.

He sported a black padded coat as he rode around the famous Acqua Paola Fountain on a motorbike with Italian actress Nicole Grimaudo, 44, on the back seat.

To complete his look, The King OF Queens sitcom star sported a black helmet and cool shades as he took directions from the stunt team.

Meanwhile, Nicole looked effortlessly chic in a red leather biker jacket and blue jeans.
But who is it? It’s Kevin James.

His new romantic comedy follows Matt (Kevin) a man who gets stood up at the altar in Italy by his fiancée and decides to go on his honeymoon alone.

Film producer Mark Fasano said the new project shows audiences it’s never too late to reinvent your life.
He said: ‘Solo Mio is an incredible project that shows audiences it’s never too late to reinvent your life.’

‘Kevin is at his most vulnerable in this film and we’re fortunate to have Chuck and Dan Kinnane on board to direct.’

Film producer Jeffrey Greenstein added: ‘Kevin, Mark, and I agree that the comedies we love watching are rarely being made; so we set out to create our own in Solo Mio.’

‘We’re excited to entertain the world with this fun-loving romantic comedy that reminds us to be present regardless of circumstances; life is a journey that begs each of us to find happiness within.’

‘Kevin is the perfect lead and audiences will fall in love with him all over again; we couldn’t be happier to build on our relationship with him.
Kevin is best known for his roles in CBS’ The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, and Here Comes The Boom.
His appearance in Rome comes after earlier this year he told the story behind the photoshoot of his viral meme from The King Of Queens.

The comedian appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and he hilariously recreated the image with the host.

It was there where the 50-year-old chat show host said that he ‘had to talk to him’ about how an old photo of Kevin became the biggest meme toward the end of 2023.

As Jimmy began to bring it up and even brought out a photo of it Kevin knew what was coming and smirked as the audience began to cheer.

Kevin was asked if he remembered the photoshoot from the early days of the CBS sitcom which aired from 1998 to 2007.

The funnyman revealed that he actually does recall the shoot as he reflected: ‘When you first get a sitcom, you just listen to anybody. You’re just so happy to be there.’

In the snap, he could be seen wearing a green, red, and white plaid long-sleeved button-down shirt over a navy blue T-shirt with his hands in his pockets and a sheepish smirk on his face as he looked into the camera.
Kevin detailed the shoot as he said: ‘The photographer, he was just telling me to do goofy things.

‘He was like, “Smile. Now like you’re sexy, now like you’re shy, but now you’re kind of …” and I got into this position where I’m like, “What the hell am I doing?”‘
The Here Comes The Boom star was so embarrassed by the snap that he said that at the time he tried to ensure that it would never be released publicly.

Kevin explained: ‘I said, “Well, please bury that one,” and he goes, “Yeah, no worries. That one won’t come back.”‘

However, the social media world has seen that was not the case as he joked: ’25 years later, the thing pops up.’

Jimmy went on to share a few memes that he enjoyed from X (formally Twitter) and James couldn’t help but laugh to himself and say: ‘It’s so, so dumb.’
Obviously, the veteran actor has a sense of humour as he donned a similar flannel shirt to recreate the photo with the chat show host joining him.
