Taylor Swift’s mega-fandom, better known as Swifties, rallied around her boyfriend’s brother after he pulled out of the NFL playoffs.
The singer has been dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce since July and his older brother, Jason Kelce, was seen crying after his team lost their sudden death game on Monday.
Jason Kelce is a center for the Philadelphia Eagles who suffered a season-ending loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, losing 32-9 on Monday.
Swift fans felt bad for Jason Kelce after the Eagles lost to the Buccaneers.
Media reports said Jason Kelce told teammates he was retiring from the game. News week contacted the Eagles for comment via email.
A video of him crying after the loss went viral on social media, with Swifties chiming in to share their support for Jason Kelce.
“I’m crying because a 36-year-old footballer is crying, how did this happen?” wrote a person on X, formerly Twitter.
A second job: “Six months ago I didn’t give a damn about football and now I’m crying about Taylor Swift’s boyfriend’s brother possibly playing his last game”
And a third added: “A football player decided to make a friendship bracelet for Taylor 7 months ago and now everyone is in ruins because of his brother.”
Some people criticized Swifties for being empathetic towards Jason.
“I’m sorry but I’m not going to feel bad for Taylor Swift’s future brother-in-law who won a Super Bowl and will eat and drink free in Philadelphia forever,” he added. wrote one person in X.
Another commented: “You guys are crazy, why do you care about Taylor’s brother BF retiring.”
Travis Kelce recently admitted that he got emotional when the Eagles made the case for Jason Kelce to be added to the NFL Hall of Fame.
The brothers talked about the Eagles’ 27-minute video of Jason Kelce’s induction into Canton during the latest episode of their podcast, New heights.

In a video posted by a concertgoer on TikTok, Swift and Kelce held hands as they walked out from backstage at the arena following the show. Swift smiled and waved at fans as Kelce raised his arms in the air, hyping up the cheering crowd.
Kelce then pointed at Swift as fans continued to celebrate her, before the pair exchanged a sweet look. The tight end then sweetly held out his hand to his girlfriend, who took it as they walked hand-in-hand toward an exit in the arena.
