ABC’s “The View” ignored the media outlet and news host George Stephanopoulos’ settlement with President-elect Donald Trump over repeatedly saying that the president-elect was “found liable for rape.”

The ABC talk show discussed the New Jersey drone story, as well as Sen. Mitt Romney’s interview on CNN on Sunday, during which he said, “give him a chance to do what he said he’s going to do and see how it works out.”

The settlement was publicly filed on Saturday, revealing that the two parties have come to an agreement and avoided a costly trial. According to the settlement, ABC News will pay $15 million as a charitable contribution to a “Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past.” Additionally, the network will pay $1 million in Trump’s attorney fees.

The co-hosts of “The View” have been outspoken about the legal cases against Trump throughout the election cycle. They frequently refer to him as a convicted felon.

Fox News Digital has reached out to ABC for comment.

Stephanopoulos and ABC News also had to issue statements of “regret” as an editor’s note at the bottom of a March 10, 2024, online article, about comments made earlier this year that prompted Trump to file the defamation lawsuit.

“ABC News and George Stephanopoulos regret statements regarding President Donald J. Trump made during an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Rep. Nancy Mace on ABC’s This Week on March 10, 2024,” the note reads.

Stephanopoulos repeated that Trump was found “liable for rape” ten times during his spat with Mace, despite the fact that a jury actually determined Trump was liable for “sexual abuse,” which has a distinct definition under New York law.

The settlement has been criticized by members of the media.

“I do worry about the effect this could have on others and the chilling effect it might have on people who otherwise would be critical of Donald Trump,” MSNBC legal analyst Barbara McQuade said during a discussion about the defamation settlement on Saturday.

Khloé Kardashian is voicing her frustration with Los Angeles officials about the California wildfires that have forced thousands to evacuate their homes and left many families displaced.

On Friday, “The Kardashians” star took to social media to share a clip of a Fox 11 interview during which Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley said Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass failed the city.

Kardashian, who evacuated her Hidden Hills home Friday, shared a screen grab from the clip to her Instagram story, saying, “I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!”

“Thank you for being honest,” she added. “Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!”

In the interview Kardashian referenced, Crowley discussed budget cuts approved by the mayor months before the fires erupted.

When asked by Fox affiliate KTTV Friday if Mayor Bass failed the city, Crowley replied, “Yes.”

“Any budget cut is going to impact our ability to provide service,” Crowley said. “That is a ground truth in regard to our ability. If there’s a budget cut, we had to pull from somewhere else. What does that mean? That doesn’t get done or that there are delays.”

There’s a stark contrast between Ben Affleck’s two Jennifers, especially when it comes to helping others. Jennifer Garner has decided to stay and volunteer to aid firefighters in Los Angeles amid the catastrophic wildfires. Teaming up with World Central Kitchen, the 13 Going on 30 star worked tirelessly for hours with chef Jose Andres, ensuring both firefighters and victims affected by the fires were given food. “The first thing you do is feed people,” she said while speaking with MSNBC.

On the other hand, Jennifer Lopez also does her part in spreading awareness about the LA wildfires, albeit with notably less effort than Garner. The Selena actress took to Instagram and posted Stories on both her personal account and JLo Beauty’s. In a generic attempt, she comforts those affected by the natural disaster, saying that her and her skincare team’s hearts go out to the victims. The helpful part of the Stories came when she posted multiple resources where those in distress could call for help or those generous could donate to the cause.

Spreading awareness on a social post is one thing, but it doesn’t come close to directly helping responders and victims of the LA wildfires. That said, Jennifer Garner has received positive comments from many fans: “Jennifer Garner is the real deal, always focused on helping others.” comments one in a People post. “Genuinely great person. No wonder Ben keeps running back to her,” chimes in another from Newsbreak’s platform.

Of course, it didn’t take long for some to compare the two Jens: “She’s [Jennifer Garner] a down-to-earth person, very loving. She definitely cares about people. Unlike the other Jennifer.” During the recent divorce between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, Garner has been a strong pillar on which Ben could lean. Conversely, JLo reportedly sees Garner as a “villain” and the reason why she and Ben separated.

It’s no secret that Jennifer Lopez is quite full of herself, posting racy pictures of her body on social media at every chance she gets. An icon for female beauty and womanly empowerment, JLo has no problem making everything about her, which might seem to many as narcissistic behavior. On the flip side, Garner has been the gentle, motherly role model of a supportive partner, which is why Affleck has always been rushing back to her side. In fact, he reportedly hurried to Garner’s home when the LA wildfires broke out.

Volunteering to help the World Central Kitchen feed responders and victims isn’t the only recent example of Jennifer Garner doing her part to help the community. She also helped out last year at The Midnight Mission’s annual Thanksgiving street fair, feeding homeless people and others less fortunate in her area. Garner has also been working with the international Save the Children organization for over a decade.

While both Jennifers did their part to help victims of the LA wildfires, it’s clear that Jennifer Garner is one to take action. On the other hand, Jennifer Lopez would rather post a few Insta Stories — perhaps to clear her conscience or please her fans.
