The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg has sounded the alarm over United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s reaction to a rising number of measles cases in Texas.

“There’s a growing measles outbreak in Texas, which has claimed the life of a school-aged kid who’d not been vaccinated. It’s the first measles-related death in a decade because they eradicated it, they got rid of it so we wouldn’t have to deal with it,” the 69-year-old said at the top of Thursday’s live Hot Topics discussion, before criticizing RFK Jr.’s insistence that “there’s no cause for alarm” before playing a clip of him saying that he’s “following the measles epidemic every day.”

Goldberg alleged that RFK Jr. spread false information amid his response to the outbreak, particularly taking issue with his assessment that the development wasn’t unusual.

The View cohosts shut down Alyssa Farah Griffin after star interrupts panelists multiple times on air: ‘Can I finish talking?’
“Actually, it is unusual, because it was eradicated. You’re not giving out the proper information. This is your job, dude. People are gonna die if they believe what you’re saying and they don’t check. I’m very worried about this reaction,” Goldberg continued. “It’s kind of like, ‘Yeah, this is not a big deal.’ It is a big deal and it’s a big deal for mothers, expectant mothers, mothers that don’t even know that they’re pregnant. They have no idea. To flippantly put it off and say that this is what happens all the time — it doesn’t. So, what are you going to do about it, RFK? What are you gonna do?”

Conservative cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin, 35, alleged that RFK Jr. “didn’t have basic facts” on the matter and pointed out that “it’s been 10 years since an adult died” and “it’s been more than 20 years since a child died of measles in this country” as another point of alarm.

“I worry, to your point, because statistically, we’re likely to have a public health crisis in some way — this is the man overseeing it,” she finished.

Joy Behar, 82, cut in to ask, “What’s it going to take? Does the entire Republican Congress have to get the measles for them to do something?” before 56-year-old panelist Sunny Hostin pointed out that true change may come in the form of local constituents raising their concerns at town halls over policies that impact them directly.

Goldberg finished her impassioned criticism of Donald Trump’s administration’s handling of the measles by pointing out a “sweeping scale where people are making decisions not based on anything but their attitudes,” suggesting that she’s “okay” with people who don’t want to vaccinate their children over personal beliefs, “but, with my family, I want a doctor!”
