Dunkin’ released its star-studded new Super Bowl commercial during the big game on Sunday, featuring a few new faces as part of the DunKings boy band that debuted last year. The coffee chain also released a seven-minute long extended version of the ad, titled “DunKings 2: The Movie,” where fans get to see more of the story.

Ben Affleck is back to lead the group, but pals Matt Damon and Tom Brady (who appear in Super Bowl ads for other projects this year) have been replaced by brother Casey Affleck, along with former “Succession” star and Boston native Jeremy Strong. Former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson also appear in the spot, clad head-to-toe in orange and pink Juicy Couture DunKings tracksuits.

The extended version opens with Ben Affleck telling his younger brother that “first the DunKings were pop stars, now the thing is diss tracks,” explaining that “everyone’s insulting each other” now in order to get successful. Viewers then learn that the group is set to take part in a showdown with other coffee sellers called “Java Jam.”

The competition kicks off with a young DunKings fan telling the Affleck brothers, “this ain’t the DunKings,” before asking “Where the hell are Matt and Tom?”

“Forget them suckers,” Ben Affleck tells the kid. “Matt Damon and Tom Brady don’t have the heart of a champion. We’ve got a new squad, DunKings sequel: Afflecks and Belichick.”

The youth goes on to call the group a bunch of “scrubs” with no chance of winning the coffee cup, prompting Ben Affleck to tease that they’ve “got a fourth DunKing too coming,” a “big surprise” to help them win. The extended ad then cuts to Strong going full Method actor, with fans catching a longer glimpse of the scene previously featured in the teaser that dropped during the 2025 Grammy Awards last weekend. Strong greets the Affleck brothers in his dressing room while emerging from a vat of wet coffee grounds.

“I’m just trying to talk to the beans, immerse myself in the beans,” Strong explains of his process getting into character. “I think I found a way in.” He then proceeds to break down his plan to channel Paul Revere, saying he’ll be ready to go for the battle in approximately three hours.

Back at the competition, Ben Affleck runs into his long-time pals Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith, both in character as Jay and Silent Bob. “Affleck, you the bomb in DunKings, yo,” Jay tells the Ben Affleck, who isn’t exactly thrilled to see them. Things quickly go off the rails as the DunKings then go diss for diss against parody versions of other brands that serve cups of joe, including the Drip Squad (led by comic Druski), the Burger Chain Gang, and the Barista Buds, a third rival that’s seemingly parodying Starbucks.

The diss battle takes a colonial turn as Strong enters the fray dressed as Paul Revere, complete with his own backing band of musicians in Revolutionary War era garb. After briefly getting distracted by the non-period attire of everyone else on the set, Strong goes into a stirring speech about being “all in for Dunkin’.”

“I stand before you Paul Revere, a man who once was and now again is here,” Strong tells the crowd while reading from a scroll. “On my midnight ride I cried aloud atop my trusty steed Brown Beauty, one creamer if by land quoth I, two sugars if by sea. The high-brow roasters are coming.”

“On the road to Medford, to the Dunkin’ there, then to the Lexington Dunkin’ drive-thru, ‘twas a warm summer’s night, I had ridden a lot-a,” he later adds. “And the refreshment I sought was a coffee Coolatta.”

After getting a round of applause for declaring that America runs on Dunkin’ “from sea to shining sea,” Affleck rushes over to hug Strong as the DunKings win the battle. But before the extended ad ends, Dunkin’ serves up one last treat with another Boston celebrity cameo: New Kids on the Block member Donnie Wahlberg, with the long-time boy bander also getting a warm embrace from Ben Affleck.
