Special tweak that has sparked Chiefs offense during playoff run

Chiefs Team

While the Kansas City Chiefs offense failed to meet expectations throughout the regular season, it’s finally finding its flow, thanks to a slight tweak.

Chiefs on Field

According to CBS Sports analyst Chris Trapasso, the Chiefs have run 13 personnel (one running back and three tight ends) on 23.7 percent of their offensive snaps in the postseason, the highest rate of any team. They ran this formation on 7.4 percent of offensive snaps during the regular season.

On these plays, K.C. has averaged 5.9 yards, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes has completed 5-of-7 passes for 49 yards and a TD. Another player who’s benefited from these changes is running back Isiah Pacheco. The 24-year-old has rushed for 186 yards and two TDs on 39 carries in the playoffs.

While correlation doesn’t imply causation, it’s fair to say this change has reignited the offense. The Chiefs have averaged 26.8 points per game in the playoffs, compared to 21.8 in the regular season.

Kansas City should keep using it Sunday in the AFC championship game against Baltimore. The Ravens are first in the league in points (16.1) and fifth in yards allowed (296.4).

“There’s no weakness there,” Mahomes told Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports Sunday. “It’s going to take our best effort. Defense, offense, special teams, they do it all. It’s always a great challenge, and that stadium is going to be rocking, so we’re excited for the challenge.”

As of Tuesday, FanDuel lists Baltimore as a 3.5-point favorite in its home game. Still, if the Chiefs can maintain their offensive momentum, they could pull off the upset.

Kansas City has made six consecutive conference championship appearances, winning it four times, and Mahomes is 13-3 in the postseason.

Olympic Integrity in Question: Simone Biles’ Honors Under Fire Amid Age Fraud Allegations

In a shocking turn of events, the Olympic community is reeling as allegations of age fraud surface against American gymnast Simone Biles. The 25-year-old gymnastics superstar, widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time, is facing mounting pressure as many call for her honors to be stripped.

According to sources, an investigation has been launched into Biles’ age, with some claiming she may have falsified her birth certificate to compete in younger age groups earlier in her career. If true, this would be a violation of Olympic rules and could result in Biles being stripped of her medals and titles.

Biles has yet to comment on the allegations, but her team has released a statement denying any wrongdoing. “Simone has always been transparent about her age and has never attempted to deceive anyone,” the statement read.

As the investigation continues, the Olympic community is holding its breath. If Biles is found guilty, it would be a devastating blow to the sport and could have far-reaching consequences.

Breaking News: Carmelo Anthony Blasts Adam Silver’s NBA for Ignoring Charles Barkley and TNT Crew in $76 Billion Deal Decision…See more

“I would be upset too if I was Charles Barkley.” Carmelo Anthony is now a part of the ownership group at Unrivaled, so his criticism is from that point of view. The deal with TNT to continue the rights took a long time, and in the meantime, every employee of the network was not happy. One of which was arguably the face of the show and the face of the network, Charles Barkley.

Melo even questioned WBD executives for not addressing the talents, “But I blame I honestly blame the higher-ups for that man, the execs and all of that. We can’t be here with you all of this time, creating this and building this property, and then we ain’t being told what’s actually happening here. And like, we don’t have a shot, like we don’t have a shot to keep this going after umpteen years.”

Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson have been entertaining fans with the Inside show for years now. The Emmy-winning show is a testament to how different it is than its current competitors. Even Barkley had commented on the failure of Adam Silver

“Clearly the NBA has wanted to break up with us from the beginning,” Charles Barkley said in the statement. He continued that he wasn’t sure if TNT ever had a fair chance because even if they matched the money, the league would prefer their latest partners in order to secure their future. What Barkley meant by it was that when the next deal came around, they would be in a better position to negotiate. Currently, WBD has a debt of $40 billion.

He even criticized Adam Silver for disrespecting fans. “It’s a sad day when owners and commissioners choose money over the fans. It just sucks.” Charles Barkley lastly thanked his Turner family for the last 24 years and promised fans that in the last season of NBA on TNT, the crew would give it all.
