Blake Lively has been called out again in a new scandal, after claiming that pregnancy cravings are a ‘lie’ in a resurfaced video from 2014.

The footage, from an interview with Extra, left viewers, especially other women, frustrated as they accused the actress, 36, of diminishing the pain and discomfort of carrying a child.

Speaking to reporter AJ Calloway, who explained that he was rubbing his pregnant wife’s feet ‘every night’, Blake, who was heavily pregnant with her first child, James, now nine, playfully slapped his arm and called him a ‘sucker.’

She said: ‘You can’t fall for that stuff!’, before claiming that pregnancy cravings are a ‘lie.’

Lively added: ‘That’s not necessary… you can exploit it [pregnancy], if you want.

‘It’s the perfect way to get what you want. You want chocolate ice cream at midnight? You have a craving!’

Before wrapping up their conversation, she made it clear that she was just ‘teasing.’

Despite the clarification, Lively’s comments rubbed social media users the wrong way as the interview re-emerged on TikTok.

One wrote: ‘I’m guessing she lives a pampered life whether pregnant or not so her feet probably aren’t sore.’

A number of people also detailed their own painful pregnancy symptoms, from swollen feet to severe back pain, as a reminder to others that ‘pregnancy is rough.’

Another acknowledged that although her own pregnancy was ‘super easy’, they ‘never once assumed every other woman was just lying.’

Someone else said: ‘Some of us work on our feet 40+ hrs and don’t have the luxury of rest throughout an entire pregnancy.’

Others worried how Lively’s comments would impact how some partners treat their spouses while expecting, regardless of whether she was joking or not.

Others defended Lively, pointing out that she even ended the interview by saying she was clearly ‘teasing.’

One said: ‘People are reading her so wrong both HER AND RYAN are extremely sarcastic and joke around. Relax,’ while another wrote: ‘People are looking for extra reasons for hating on her now.’

Another said: ‘She’s being sarcastic people!! This hate campaign is gross.’

The backlash - or Blakelash – comes amid reports that her bitter feud with her It Ends With Us costar, Justin Baldoni, may affect the chances of their film’s sequel.

Sources told DailyMail.com on Thursday that plans to get Colleen Hoover’s popular follow-up novel It Starts With Us on to the big screen are now in doubt after the performers reportedly refused to promote their work together.

According to one industry insider: ‘It’s hard to imagine Justin wanting to work with Blake – or vice versa – after all this bad blood. Whatever started this feud, there certainly has been no obvious rapprochement between the pair.’

It Ends With Us has already taken in more than $180million worldwide, showing a massive profit for the movie that cost only $25million to make, and so the ready-made sequel would normally follow.

But Hoover has sided with Lively – which is a problem because Baldoni’s company has already bought the rights to It Starts With Us, insiders say.

Over the past month, Lively has been under fire after clips of interviews have shown her being rude to reporters.

Clip after clip of hard to watch interviews in which she skewers, dismisses or flat-out ignores questions have surfaced in recent days, and the version of Lively left standing is not so much glamorous gossip girl as bullying mean girl.

Now Lively is said to be desperately upset and casting around for some publicity strategy to defend her reputation.

But while she casts around for someone else to blame for her mounting bad press, her time might be better spent reflecting on one of her bestie Taylor Swift’s tracks and her words: ‘It’s me. Hi! I’m the problem it’s me.’

Much of the criticism leveled at Lively has centered squarely on her tone-deaf performance during her publicity tour – a tour she has conducted entirely separately from Baldoni.

Critics have pointed to her failure to address one of the central themes of the movie – domestic abuse.

Instead, she has piggybacked on the movie’s publicity to promote her own hair care range, Blake Brown, and urged viewers to ‘grab your friends, wear your florals and head out to see it!’ as if she were promoting a romantic comedy rather than a movie dealing with traumatic themes and toxic relationships.

It’s all a very bad look for the actress who is currently promoting her first movie in four years and as the clips keep surfacing it’s only getting worse.

In fact, when it comes to Lively’s once carefully curated ‘girls’ girl’ reputation, it increasingly looks like it ends with this.
